Green Cottage Design recognises that our work may have a direct or indirect effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and promoting the understanding of sustainability in its broadest context.

Purchasing
All stationery is recycled/FSC within the limits of available technology.
Where possible a recycled option is made available for all print clients.
Energy and water saving and waste reduction
We keep energy use low by turning off all electrical equipment and lighting when not in use.
Keep water usage to a minimum.
Re-use rather than dispose of resources whenever possible and continue a strict recycle policy.
Travel
Business travel is kept to a minimum.
No commuting is done as our service is provided from a home office.
Most business communication is possible via phone or email negating the need for travel.
Ethical Policy
Green Cottage Design support businesses that promote the local and wider community, produce local and organic products and use methods of working which are beneficial to the environment.
We do not support or provide service to businesses who:
test cosmetic or household products on animals
extract or produce fossil fuels
manufacture tobacco
are involved in the fur trade
promote pornographic or offensive material
propagate extreme religious or political agendas

The hosting service providers utilise either wind, water and solar power in accordance with the Renewable Energy Certification System (RECS) or for database driven sites strict carbon offset.
